Growing up, I spent many days at our remote Northern Ontario cottage. It was a peaceful, quiet spot where I was surrounded by an incredible, 

ever-changing backdrop of wilderness. It was also a place where four generations of my family gathered to build memories. It is here, 

that I received my greatest and deepest influences that continue to shape my creativity.

My work is deeply rooted in my love for so much of what I experienced at the cottage-through my childhood days and beyond.  It was the

beginning of my long time affection for such things as small details, fine workmanship, textured papers, textiles, stitching,

B&W photography and vintage finds. Along the way I fell in love with the soft, gentle mark making, blending and layering that come when

creating with pencils. There is something so soothing to the soul in slowly illustrating this way. Of course it is no surprise

that I continue to enjoy taking walks on a trail, paddling on calm waters and gathering with the ones I love.

On most days you will find me at my simple desk which overlooks our yard. From this view, I can watch the days and seasons unfold.

As I continue to grow my illustrative practice, I have welcomed new mediums and tools to my work. Although, intuitively,

I seem to almost always reach for my pencils. Simply put ... I love to convey tender moments on paper, that in turn,

create smiles along the way!
